A few weeks ago I posted what my office looked like when I was working at Carlton Plaza in Fremont...
Exhibit A:
So, since that last post I have gone back to my roots at the Carlton Plaza in San Leandro and I thought I would share with you all my new office...
Exhibit B:
I went from having to work in a large open room, with all sorts of employee's walking in and out all day, to a spacious office with a door! Oh I love my door!
In fact it's not just the office I love, I love everything about my job. The relationships that I have with my residents, some going on five years, from when I started as a waitress in the Dining Room to now, the Personal Expressions Director. I plan events and activities and then get to enjoy it with not only the residents but with my co-workers. My management team and boss have supported me and taught me so much through- out my going on six years there. We are a family, and for this I am so grateful. It's a great feeling loving your job, and it's an even better feeling knowing that I'm making a difference.
What do you love about your job?
Thankkks for the comment!!

ReplyDeleteThe kids! I have always loved kids and now I get to teach them and help them grow, I love it! & Everyone I work with (almost) are like a family also, it's awesome!
ReplyDeleteLovely office!!! Oh and I adore your stars!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I love about my job yet. I'll tell you more once I get through the first day! ;P
I am fully jealous of the fact that you have a door. I don't. People can just walk in whenever they want and it's really distracting. Love the stars too!
ReplyDeleteawesome stars on the wall! :) and... is that picnic basket full of water bottles?
ReplyDeleteOh, your office is so cute! I'm jealous. I want a Big Girl job like that. ;)
ReplyDeletethanks for checking out my blog :)
ReplyDeletei love your office!
Your office is lovely just like your blog! Where do you work? I might be way off, but it sounds like you work at a retirement facility? I guess the reason why that is my guess, is because I used to work at one, and I started out serving in the dining room! It sounds like you would be wonderful at planning events! I remember loving it, unfortunately the budget was never high enough. I got really frusterated with how little we respect the elderly in our culture. There definitely are some great retirement facilities out there, (if you work at one, I hope yours is great!) but I feel like too many of them don't do enough. Now that I own my own business as a jewelry designer and stay home with our little boy, what isn't there to love?!
